Principal Business Types
Public Company (Ltd)
A limited liability company which may be quoted on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Must have at least 2 shareholders of a value of at least R1.00 each.
Private Company ((Pty) Ltd)
A proprietary limited company which again must have at least 2 shareholders of a value of at least R1.00 each.
Close Corporation (CC)
A combination of private company and partnership, these are normally small companies.

Company Accounts Filing Requirements
Only Public Companies (LTD) are required to file their annual report with the Company Registrar Office which is situated in Pretoria. However, this rule is not strictly enforced.
All other registered companies are except from filing financial or operating details but must file:-
